Central Australia in a Kia Sorento

scenes from the trip

Central Australia

Touring the spectacular landscapes of Central Australia is far more than a sightseeing holiday. For us it has proved to be an adventure, an escape, and a time of personal discovery. The big city in Central Australia is Alice Springs, with connecting flights to the rest of Australia, as well as train and bus services. What has to be seen in this area of the world is landscapes, landscapes and landscapes again. To that you had a bit of fauna and flora, Aboriginal culture, and you have it all.

Do not miss :

Grey monolith of Ayres Rock (Uluru)
The domed rocks of the Olgas (Kata Tjuta)
The red cliffs of Kings Canyon
The McDonnell Ranges (West, or East)
The beautiful Palm valley time permitting
The great boulders of The Devil’s Marbles, time permitting

Wonderful landscapes await you

You should plan at least 4 days in this area. Ayers rock and the Olgas is a must see, but is about 600 km away from Alice Spring, and spending a day there is the minimum. A tour of the West McDonnell Ranges is well worth it, and allows you to see many wonderful places, uncrowded. If you get there, take advantage of it.
